What is Believers Bassmen?
Believers Bassmen is a Christian bass fishing club dedicated to fellowship, faith, and sportsmanship. Our vision is to be the most respected bass club in Mississippi while maintaining a strong Christian and family atmosphere.
What is the club’s mission?
To bring together believers who share a love for Jesus Christ and bass fishing, using both for Christian fellowship and outreach.
Who can join?
Membership is open to any male age 16 or older who professes Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.
Do I have to belong to a church or denomination?
No. Believers Bassmen is non-denominational and welcomes men from all church backgrounds.
Do I need a boat to join?
No. Both boaters and non-boaters are welcome.
How do I become a member?
Prospective members must attend two believers Bassmen Functions (meeting or tournament) as a guest before being eligible for membership approval.
How long has the club been around?
Believers Bassmen was established in 1984.
How many members are there?
The club has approximately 40 active members.
Is the club affiliated with any organizations?
No. Membership in B.A.S.S., FLW, or similar organizations is optional and handled individually.
What does it cost to join?
Annual dues are $100, which include club dues, the BB Classic tournament, and an optional Lunker of the Year entry. you will get a new Believers Bassmen Hat each year.
When and where do you meet?
Meetings are held the Monday or Tuesday before each tournament at 6:00p.m. (currently at Flowood Baptist on Fannin). Meeting details are shared via email newsletter.
How many tournaments are held each year?
The club typically fishes 10 Saturday tournaments per year on Mississippi and Louisiana waters, running from late winter through fall.
How long do tournaments last?
From safe light until 3:00 p.m., weather permitting.
What is the tournament entry fee?
$20 per boat or $10 per person, plus an optional $5 Big Bass pot.
How are fish weighed?
Believers Bassmen uses the Golden Rule–WeighMaster, which measures fish length and converts it to weight. Fish are immediately released, promoting conservation. Any fish 10 inches or longer counts.
